These headcovers are great. I bought one for my Driver, 3 wood, and utility wood. The materials are nice, they are nicely styled (I got the black and red ones), and seem durable!.. They fit all the clubs well (and I have a now standard 460cc driver)... The magnetic "door" part (you open the back to put your club in) works great and holds nicely! The slot where you can change the club number on the top of the headvover is nice too, and they come with extra/different numbers for using with different clubs. Overall, really great headcovers! I presently own several rangefinders and I have owned others in the past so I feel my comparison is fair.
I own the Nikon LR1200 which works wonderfully for its generation. It is fast and accurate which I used to compare other rangefinders.
The Leupold GX-4 is in a higher class of functionality. Here's why I'm significantly impressed with the GX-4 above other golf rangefinders.
1. The GX-4 has a rubberized grip over an aluminum body. It is very strong while being compact. It appears to have the same structure, quality, and design as expensive cameras. The Leupold company has not produced a cheap device for market share. They are the Lexus of rangefinders.
2. The instruction booklet is very easy to comprehend and learn. I'm a computer instructor and I know what great technical documentation is and Leupold provides it. It explains the hows, whys, and when you would use certain functions and those functions are easily set with just two buttons.
3. The viewing screen is crisp and well-lighted by coated optical lenses. It has 6X magnification which is lower than the Nikon LR1200 with 7X but the difference is unnoticiable and unnecessary. In fact, my colleage says he can't use 7X because his hands shake too much.
4. In the GX-4, the OLED distance readout is bright enough to see in any outdoor setting with dark or extremely bright backgrounds.
5. The GX-4 has three reticles that you can choose for your preference although I always choose one and never switch again.
6. If you don't know already, the GX-4 has slope-adjusted distance readings which can be deactivated by removing the yellow smart key. When you reach a point in your golf career when the slope and distance are necessary for great scoring, the Leupold provides them with altitude and temperature corrections.
7. The GX-4 provides recommended club selections after you setup some typical distances for three of your irons. You only need to do this once or until the GX-4 enables your game to improve (there are default settings if you don't want to enter your own). I think this is a great function but probably not perfect. I entered my distances as described in the manual but on my first shot of 212 yards, the GX-4 told me to use a two iron. Well, I don't use a two iron or one iron so I had to make a mental conversion to my 5 and 7 woods. No big deal however.
8. You can tell the GX-4 is a fine device when you notice the battery compartment is built like a Leica camera. "Holy Cow Batman."
9. Finally, and most important, the GX-4 is accurate, dependable, and repeatable for reading flag sticks with or without the reflective prism. My colleagues who have "ordinary" rangefinders can only use them on flagsticks with prisms. It's fun to say, "Here, let me tell you the actual distance, would you like it corrected or uncorrected for slope?"
10. Considering all the GX-4 functions, quality, and design, you actually get much more VALUE for your money than other rangefinders. It even comes with a nice protective case that attaches to your belt or golf bag.

This is NOT a review from an owner of this Leupold GX-4. I have been doing a lot of research on these, along with the Bushnell V2 Tour and 1600 Pro models, and here are a few things to be aware of. I am posting this because there are very few Reviews of the GX-3 or GX-4 available online, and because many of the websites advertising them are posting incorrect information.

Between the Bushnell 1600 Slope Edition and the Leupold GX-4 -- only the GX-4 is deemed "legal" for Tournament Play, and only if you use the supplied Key attachment (a yellow faceplate) to turn off disallowed features (slope inclinator, club selection, etc.). The Bushnell 1600 Slope Edition has no way to disable those features. It's food for thought if you really do want those features. If they are not important, then the comparison between the Bushnell 1600 Tournament Edition and the GX-3 are harder to make. But I think the GX-3 wins out.

Many, many websites list the number of Reticles for all Leupold GX-series Rangefinders as 7. This is NOT true -- only the GX-1 and GX-2 versions have 7. The GX-3 and GX-4 have 3, as stated correctly here on Amazon and at the Leupold website. The Bushnell 1600 does include a -/+2 Diopter Adjustment.

Batteries -- a few Reviews that I found did correctly point out that the Leupold units require a CR-2 Lithium Battery, whereas, the Bushnell units use typical 9-volt. If you are on a trip and the battery runs low, you may find it more difficult to locate a CR-2 Lithium Battery when you need it. Having said that, many of my friends who use GPS units are constantly running out of battery power on the Course -- so, keeping any battery on hand can be a bit of a chore if you don't think ahead.

Another nice feature of the GX-3 and GX-4 is they are made of an Aluminum Body. Their earlier units used plastic, like most every other manufacturer.

In my opinion, the high-contrast OLED readout within the finder on the Leupold GX-3 and GX-4 is probably well worth it as some Reviewers have mentioned it is difficult to read the numbers when aiming toward a dark background. OLED is very expensive, and may explain some of the high pricing we see on these.

Again, this is not intended to trash Bushnell. They make very good optics and have a great following. For similar money, I think several of the features on the GX-3 and GX-4 models put the Leupold at the top of my list. But I'm only talking stated features -- not actual field-use experiences. GPS units that require a fee to download the course information irritate me. Several friends and family have reported ongoing problems getting the download links to work, never remembering to do it, or courses not being available. This may change over time.

Pricing seems to be hard-set at most websites (even on eBay). I struggle with my golf game, and trying to justify a $400 or $500 "device" that will probably have no effect on how well I play is futile. On the other hand, I'll easily burn that on a driver or two over a few seasons that don't help much, either. I guess I'll never give up my day job!
